Miss Totzke

About Miss Totzke:
I am very glad to be a part of the Triton family and be involved in the community. Before starting my career here at Triton, I earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and an Educational Technology and Computing Certificate from the University of Minnesota. I love the energy and enthusiasm of this age group.

While I was in the Secondary Education program at UMD, I was placed with three different cooperating teachers at school districts in the Duluth area.  My first placement was with 9th and 10th-grade students at Proctor High School in Proctor, MN, and my second placement was with 7th-grade students at Marshall College Prep School in Duluth, MN.  My final semester, I was placed in an 8th-grade English classroom at Superior Middle School in Superior, WI.  From all of these placements, I learned that students learn best when they are actively taking ownership of their education.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading a good book, watching a variety of TV shows and movies on Netflix, and trying new recipes to cook.

My Purpose Statement:
As an educator, I will continuously be supportive of my students and believe in their abilities, as a learner and whole person, as I strive to challenge them to achieve beyond their expected potential.

My goal as a teacher is to help your student find success and gain an understanding and appreciation of language, literature and communication and their importance to his/her life.
