Background on John Schreiber

John Schreiber teaches language arts and directs theater at Triton Senior High School.

He has written seven books, directed over 140 plays, had three one-act plays perform at the State One-Act Festival, written two plays, serves on the MSHSL one-act advisory committee, and was finalist for MN Teacher of the Year. In 2012 he was named Minnesota's first Theater Educator of the Year. He graduated from Hamline University and received his M.A. in English from what was then Mankato State University.

His novels fall into several genres: 1) epic fantasy: the Heartstone series; 2) suspense/mysteries set in Minnesota: the Ironwood County series: Catching the Stream, Life on the Fly, and Passing Through Paradise), 3) the YA coming of age novel Hillcrest Journal; and 4) a metafictional mix of everything: his collection of short stories Tales from 2 A.M, and the Irregulars series. All books are available through any bookstore or on-line. Some may also be checked out of the Triton High School library.

Sorry, students, no extra credit for choosing to read them over other novels.
