More about the Counselor...

I grew up near Madison, Wisconsin with my parents, younger brother and the family dog. I graduated from Monona Grove High School.

In 2010, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Child Psychology along with a second major in Spanish Studies and a minor in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Yes, I am a die-hard Gopher fan. As a four-year member of the University of Minnesota Marching Band (colorguard, but I also play saxophone) my blood seemed to change from red and white to maroon and gold quite quickly! During my time at college, I also studied for a semester at the College of Charleston through the National Student Exchange program and completed a Summer Study Abroad experience in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Finally I held down a part-time job working as an assistant teacher in a university preschool program.

Right after graduation I moved to Iowa City to begin my Masters of School Counseling program at the University of Iowa. During this time I also worked as a paraeducator for two years in an offsite special education classroom for secondary students with severe emotional and/or behavior disorders. In the final year of my program I worked as a substitute teacher and graduate assistant for the University of Iowa helping with research on assistive technology for students with behavior disorders. I interned at Solon High School, West Liberty Middle School and Coolidge Elementary School as well as completed a practicum at Lone Tree Community School (K-12).

In May of 2013, I earned my Masters degree in School Counseling from The University of Iowa and shortly after accepted the high school counselor position here at Triton High School. My first year here was a whirlwind, and I am so excited to continue my professional school counseling career here for the fourth year. I know how much the Triton School District values high-class education, as well as the well-being and success of its students. I am so honored to be a part of this team and will do my best in ensuring I continue in this tradition.
