|Four Year Colleges & Universities|
|Students entering a four year college or university will earn a Bachelor's degree. Most professional occupations require at least a Bachelor's degree.
Four year college and university general admission requirements:
4 credits of English
3 credits of Science (Biology & Chemistry)
3 credits of Math (Alg I, Alg II, Geometry)
3 credits of Social Studies
2 years of a Foreign Language
1 credit Fine Arts
These are MINIMUM requirements, check individual schools for more specific information.
*Most schools also require students to take the ACT test.
|Two Year Community & Technical Colleges|
|Two Year Community & Technical Colleges offer more short term education and career training. Typically students will take fewer "general education requirements" and will get into their "field of study" within the first year. Community colleges can also be a more affordable way to begin a four year college plan by taking freshmen requirements at the community college and later transferring to a four-year college.|
