Hello! I am excited to be a part of the Triton Middle staff where I can focus on our middle schoolers.
My Background:
I am originally from New Jersey and after many years of following my military husband around the world, we now live in his home town of Hastings. After raising our children and working various retail jobs, I decided to pursue a Masters in School Counseling and now hold a MN K-12 Professional School Counseling License. This is my 3rd year as a School Counselor at Triton Public Schools. Being a student myself during COVID, I decided to continue my education and have also earned a Masters in Social Emotional Learning.
As a Counseling Team at Triton:
Our Mission: To empower students to grow in their academic, personal/social and career development goals while in a safe, caring and respectful environment.
Our Vision: Every Triton School student will acquire academic, personal/social and career skills to successfully navigate their path to high school graduation and beyond as a lifelong learner.
Our Goals: To foster academic achievement for every student to graduate from high school.
To develop a school counseling program that is data-driven, anti-racist, proactive, developmentally
appropriate and supports school improvement.
To prepare every student to create a plan for successful post-high school college and career readiness.
Our Beliefs:
All students should be treated with respect and kindness no matter their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
Every student can learn and has the right to quality educational opportunities.
Nurturing students' social and emotional well-being will aide academic development and future success.
Every student should be knowledgeable about the college application, military recruitment and apprenticeship and career application processes so that upon graduation they have the skills and preparation to make their individual choice as to what path is best for them.
All students deserve to feel heard, visible, important, valued, smart and safe.
